Be Pretty in Prints This Spring with the Milly for Clinique Collection - Makeup and Beauty Blog
There really must be a "wrong side of the bed" because I think it's the side I woke up on this morning time. I needed more than mere caffeine to go far through the mean solar day today, so I stopped past my favorite chai place, the Nordstrom buffet, because it also happens to exist located a few feet from the Nordie's cosmetics department. 🙂
When I came to the Clinique counter, I nearly dropped my drinkable!
With only iii pieces, the new Milly for Clinique Pretty in Prints Collection might be one of the littlest releases this leap, but I'1000 such a total sucker for pretty prints.
About Milly
The label was established in 2000, when founder/designer Michelle Smith returned to New York afterward working for Paris powerhouses like Hermèsouthward and Dior. The collections consistently turn out feminine pieces and archetype silhouettes in personally designed fabrics and prints that entreatment to socialistas likewise as starlets on the preppy side. Milly has perfected the Palm Embankment palette with Upper Due east Side shine.

The chocolate browns and playful pinks only expect so darn foolproof and wearable, don't they? Certain, the colors themselves aren't particularly edgy, but these look like the kinds of things I could wear when I want to look polished and professional but don't want to spend a lot of fourth dimension doing information technology.
Clinique Pretty in Prints Compact $36 (limited edition) — Clinique nailed this powder centre/cheek palette because the colors go together perfectly. It comes with four eyeshadows — 1, a pearly, peachy beige (looks a little similar MAC Vex without the green pearl); a bronzy aureate with a touch of green and pinkish glitter (GORGEOUS!); a shimmery, medium-toned pinkish; and a shimmery chocolate dark-brown — and a peachy pink blush, which kinda resembles a less gilded version of NARS Orgasm. As well in the mix: a snazzy drawstring printed pouch and how-to bill of fare with a footstep-by-footstep tutorial. Not bad for makeup newcomers and seasoned makeup addicts alike (the ones lacking cocky-control, like yours truly, ha!), particularly ones who habiliment warm colors well.
Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in Milly Pink, $14 (limited edition) — NOM is all I take to say about this shimmery medium pinkish with silverish glitter. All it appears to do is turn upwards your natural lip color a few notches, but I love the results. Oh, and the fact that it comes in the awesomely long-wearing and moisturizing Clinique Glosswear formula? Yep!
High Impact Mascara in Black, $14.fifty (repromote) — This black mascara from Clinique'due south permanent line adds natural-looking thickness and length. 'Tis a'ight, but I prefer Clinique's Loftier Touch Curling Mascara's more than dramatic lash wait and sleeky shine.

The collection doesn't appear to be bachelor withal on the Clinique website, but information technology is upwards for grabs at Nordstrom stores and online.
I'm a sucker for pinks and browns and like how these tidbits implement them in such a girly and wearable way.
What do y'all think? Are these products your cuppa tea, or are you partial to bolder colors?
A Stila of a Deal!
This isn't Clinique related, merely I wanted to share this heads upwardly that reader Shannon spied on Stila lip glosses:
"I establish a 7-pack of .05 Stila lip glazes at Costco for $sixteen.99 (that's like, $2.fifty per gloss…?!). I don't know if information technology'southward everywhere (it was at my Costco hither in Missoula) just in case it is, I wanted to spread the give-and-take! The shades included are Majesty, Kitten, Guava, Seashell, Merry Merry, Grapefruit, and Apricot. As far as I could tell, every pack had the same combo."
— Shannon
What a great deal! Thanks, Shannon. I run across a trip to Costco in my near future…
In other news, here's the vocal (it'due south past Ke$ha) currently stuck in my head.
Hawt and dangerous…
Your friendly neighborhood dazzler addict,
Karen
